Biography of Industrial Platypus
At the end of the summer of 2007, two friends from Hillsdale, Michigan decided to obtain a copy of Fruity Loops Studio, by ImageLine, and start making electronic music. While the project began as something “just for the hell of it,” it wasn’t long before a decent amount of material was obtained. That is not to say the material is the greatest work of Industrial Platypus; far from it, the work served simply as a stepping stone, that initial lift-off into the world of Electronic music. The inspirations and indeed, the resulting tracks are constantly updated in the methods in which they are made, and the type of sound desired with Industrial Platypus.
Shortly before New Year, 2008, Industrial Platypus essentially died as both members went on hiatuses to focus on their day-to-day lives. A few months into the new year, Dustin endeavoured to finish Delicious Platy-Pie, the first album, and release it online. Joe also donated. The resulting track from Joe, Shards of Reality, was the final track contributed to the Industrial Platypus project. After the release of Delicious Platy-Pie, Dustin, unsatisfied with the musical and professional result of the album and its release, began work on the second album, entitled Something More Creative. Now alone, Dustin focuses much of his time to this project, and assumes full responsibility for its direction. The album is expected to be released November, 2008.
